MEET KELLY MUCHOWSKI

Kelly is a finance professional with 25 years of experience doing exactly what good city council members do: managing budgets, strengthening systems, and finding smarter ways to solve real problems. Her career spans Fortune 500 finance — budgeting, audit, process improvement, and system integrations — as well as small business consulting, where she learned to adapt her expertise to serve organizations of every size. Through every chapter, Kelly has brought the same qualities: responsibility, curiosity, and a quiet determination to keep moving forward no matter the circumstances.

Kelly chose Ramsey in 2013 for the same reasons many families do — space, community, and room to grow. She's a homeschooling parent of four who has lived that community spirit, not just talked about it. When her family benefitted from the Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association, she gave back by joining the board. She served as Assistant Director of the Northern Light Soccer Club for nearly three years, and co-founded a grassroots crisis organization that walked alongside more than 300 families during some of their hardest moments. For Kelly, caring for neighbors isn't a campaign position — it's who she is.

Ramsey isn't just where Kelly lives — it's where she has put down roots, raised her family, and invested in her neighbors. She is running for city council because she knows that people working side by side accomplish more than anyone working alone. Voters can count on Kelly to do the homework, listen before deciding, and always put neighbors before politics.

Infrastructure that keeps up with our growth

Ramsey is growing, and our roads, utilities, and public spaces need to grow with it thoughtfully and sustainably. This isn't a partisan issue; it's a practical one that affects every household. I believe in planning ahead rather than reacting to problems after they become expensive. That means honest conversations about what development costs the community, what it contributes, and how we balance both. I'll push for long-term thinking so that the infrastructure we build today serves all of Ramsey well for decades to come.

Government that listens and communicates honestly

Decisions made at city hall affect all of us, not just those who align with one party or another. I believe that good governance starts with genuinely listening to everyone: long-term residents and new ones, those who show up at every meeting and those who feel like no one is listening to them. There is no "side" when it comes to making Ramsey work well for its people. I'll lead with curiosity rather than judgment, take time to research before reacting, and communicate openly about what I know, what I'm learning, and where I stand. You deserve a council member who gives you a straight answer and who represents the whole community, not a portion of it.

Responsible stewardship of your tax dollars

Every dollar the city spends comes from our neighbors: families working hard, small business owners, and seniors on fixed incomes. These are shared resources, and they deserve shared respect regardless of where any of us stand politically. I bring over a decade of finance and process improvement experience from the private sector, and I will apply that same discipline to Ramsey's budget. That means asking hard questions, understanding where money is going before approving where it will go, and making sure growth investments deliver real value. Fiscal responsibility isn't about saying no to everything. It's about saying yes to the right things, at the right time, for the right reasons.

A safe, welcoming community for everyone

Public safety is something we all want. It is one of the most fundamental shared values in any community. Our first responders deserve the support and resources to do their jobs well, and every resident deserves to feel secure in their neighborhood. A truly safe community is also one where people feel seen, included, and connected to one another. I've seen firsthand, through co-founding a grassroots crisis aid organization that supported over 300 families and helped prevent around 50 evictions in just six months, that neighbors helping neighbors is one of the most powerful safety nets we have. I'll work to strengthen both our formal services and the community bonds that hold us together.

Parks, recreation, and quality of life

Ramsey's parks, open spaces, and recreational programs aren't extras. They are part of what makes this a place people from all walks of life choose to call home. These are shared spaces that bring us together across all the things that might otherwise divide us. As a parent of four who moved here for room to roam, and having served in a leadership role with local recreational soccer, I understand what these resources mean to families. I'll advocate for maintaining and thoughtfully expanding the amenities that bring our community together, and for making sure they're accessible to every resident.
